Knights of Heroes Camp is set in the central Colorado mountains only 45 minutes from all the amenities in Woodland Park, including hospital, groceries, hardware, restaurants and all services. It is approximately 1.5 hours to the Colorado Springs airport and 2.5 hours from Denver International airport. This property has all the attributes of a premiere, high elevation alpine hunting camp and retreat. Meadows, aspens, evergreens and water! The 3 spring-fed ponds with year round water and a seasonal creek attract a wide variety of wildlife…trophy elk, mule deer, bear, turkey and other small game, and the occasional moose! The structures on the property were originally built to facilitate a hunting/outfitting operation and was further developed with additional modern buildings and infrastructure into a non-profit camp to serve the children of our nation’s fallen military heroes. The main lodge has indoor dining area and a communal living space with bathroom. The kitchen is also located off the lodge with commercial appliances often serving 50-100 people at a meal! There are 6 newer cabins built in 2015, each with their own 3/4 bath, 6 original cabins with 3/4 baths, 2 original cabins with a Jack-n-Jill 1/2 bath, and 2 dry cabins. Each cabin can accommodate 4-6+ beds (2-4 bunks+) depending on need and arrangement. There is a new outdoor covered pavilion off the main lodge perfect for outdoor dining, along with the lodge deck. In addition, there is a large Quonset building, barn/full workshop, two locations of eco-toilets, newer storage/shelter facility up on the hill where the tent camp is, rustic amphitheater, high and low ropes courses, zip line, archery range, and so much more!
